Background-
Dublin-based beauty software company Phorest will create 25 new jobs in Northern Ireland over the next three years, building a fully remote team in the region.
Invest NI, the region’s economic development agency, is putting £162,500 behind the company as financial backing for the move. The agency said its backing helped Northern Ireland win the investment over competing locations including Croatia, Portugal, North America and Estonia.
Phorest will hire software engineers, including graduates, along with product managers, customer specialists and test engineers.
The company employs 450 people worldwide. Its platform serves hair and beauty salons, spas and aesthetic clinics, combining appointment and diary management, online booking, marketing and integrated payments in one system.
Sylvie McDermott, chief operating officer at Phorest, said the new team supports the firm’s long-term plan to expand its international delivery capability and serve its global customers. She said the team will help Phorest scale in a controlled and sustainable way while keeping its standards of service and innovation. She credited Northern Ireland’s skilled talent pool, strong technology ecosystem and excellent connectivity.
Anne Beggs, chief commercial officer at Invest NI, met the company at the agency’s Newry office. She said the decision builds on a partnership that began in 2018, when the agency’s Dublin team first engaged with Phorest.
Beggs said he move strengthens Northern Ireland’s reputation for software and digital services and shows international confidence in its talent. She added that remote roles will open opportunities for people across the region.
